1 There are some verbs that have both an irregular and a regular form. There are both accepted although you will use one or the other depending on where you live.
2 Usually the verbs that have the same form in infinitve, past and past participle are pronounced the same way. In the case of the verb "read", both the past and past participle form are pronounced like the colour "red".
